BUSHENYI AGRIBUSINESS CENTRE
Two years after The creation of Youth Agriprenuers Clubs in the villages of Greater Bushenyi, we began to hold annual quarterly and annual forums that bring together over 700 young farmers and community agricultural players to a sharing a learning platform with experts in different clusters of agribusiness, training them in thematic areas of agricultural entrepreneurship and value chain development with a clear mission : these men and women are trained and mentored to be stewards of development in their communities and be job creators
Training mission led young people
The mission is to train young entrepreneurs who are capable of taking on productive production in one or more of the cluster enterprises at the center, in their own community or village. They can contribute to the sustainable development of their communities by creating jobs and thus making agriculture adorable and cool for more youth and more young people, this will ensure more food for communities and thus national food security
The center works with a network of well-trained village agents, who monitor the progress of the individuals and groups after the training, linking them markets and other technologies as well as retraining them in saving and credit schemes.
- The overarching goal of the BACE is to expand, strengthen, and transform the youth livelihoods through profitable agricultural activities, following the pattern of the highly successful agripreneurship programs and community farm support services.
- Thus, the Center will provide skills to the youth in agricultural production and productivity, and innovations to boost job creation in the Greater Bushenyi districts and later best practices can be shared to other districts in western Uganda. These youths will be innovators and job creators, contributing to, improving food security, nutrition, rural incomes, poverty reduction, and economic development.
